Analysis of the match between Inter and Hellas Verona
Sixteen years after their historic 2009/10 campaign, Inter Milan have finally reestablished their dominance in Italian football by winning both Serie A and the Coppa Italia. The achievement feels even more remarkable as it came in Cristian Chivu’s very first season in charge of the club. Although their Champions League journey ended earlier than expected, this campaign is still viewed as the perfect foundation for the Nerazzurri’s greater ambitions in the future.
Therefore, in their final home match of the season at Giuseppe Meazza, Inter have no intention of turning the occasion into a dull performance simply because their objectives have already been achieved. Backed by more than 70,000 home fans, the blue-and-black side are expected to play with freedom and intensity against a clearly weaker opponent.
Verona, in fairness, have shown plenty of determination in recent rounds. They managed to earn a valuable point against Juventus before eventually falling to Como late in the second half. However, those efforts came too late and were not enough to save the Veneto side from relegation out of Serie A.
